Jianlin Qiao, PhD, Dr, Blood Disease Institute, Xuzhou Medical University. I carried out my PhD studies at the Australian Centre for Blood Diseases, Monash University, Melbourne, Australia, with competitive scholarships from the Chinese Scholarship Council and Monash University (PhD awarded in May, 2013) under the co-supervision of Drs. Robert Andrews and Elizabeth Gardiner. I am now are working at Blood Disease Institute, Xuzhou Medical University, Xuzhou, China. Current research interests involve the mechanism of platelet activation and thrombus formation as well as the relationship between inflammation and thrombosis. I have co-authored > 60 publications, including 3 research papers (2 first author) in Blood, the highest rated international journal in haematology, 1 paper in Haematologica. With the support of competitive travel awards, our work had been presented at both national and international conferences, including the Cell Biology of Megakaryocytes and Platelets (Gordon Research Conference), Gavleston, TX, USA 2019, the 10th congress of APSTH (Asian-Pacific Society on Thrombosis and Hemostasis), Sapporo, Japan, 2018; the XXVI congress of ISTH (International Society on Thrombosis and Haemostasis), Berlin, Germany, 2017. I am a member of three scientific societies, ASH (American Society of Hematology), ISTH and APSTH. I have been awarded Jiangsu Specially Appointed Professor, the APSTH Travel Grant Award and ASTH (Australasian Society of Thrombosis and Haemostasis) medal award for best presentation. I am currently in the editorial board of Platelets journal as Principal Editors.
