Research Scientist
Seattle Children's Research Institute
I am Chun-Yu Chen, a research scientist in the Center for Immunity and Immunotherapies (CIIT) of Seattle Children's Research Institute.
I have more than 10 years of experience in human disease mouse models, including the generation and analysis of transgenic and knockout mice using molecular biology, my research has been aimed at gene therapies for hemophilia A. I use different strategies to treat hemophilia A mice including lentivirus and hydrodynamic injection. I now focus on using a non-viral system such as lipid nanoparticles that can carry therapeutic mRNA or DNA to treat hemophilia A mice. I treat the hemophilia A mice with FVIII mRNA lipid nanoparticles and successfully corrected their bleeding symptoms.
