Béla Nagy Jr, MD, PhD University of Debrecen
I graduated as an MD from the Faculty of Medicine of the University of Debrecen in 2004. First I did my PhD in platelet physiology at the Department of Laboratory Medicine, University of Debrecen and then spent 28 months at the Department of Physiology, Temple University in Philadelphia, PA as a research fellow. After returning back home, I had my residency program in clinical chemistry and laboratory medicine and passed the board exam in 2013. Currently, I work in the same department as an associate professor supervising several PhD students (one defended, two in progress to finish and two fresh students). My special fields of interest are platelet activation, endothelial dysfunction in cardiovascular and metabolic disorders, sepsis and biomarker research in different diseases, such as cystic fibrosis.
