PhD
University of Pavia, Pavia
I am Mauro Vismara, born in June 1990. To date I cover a Post-doc position at the University of Pavia in Biochemistry. After master's degree I worked for two years in two different companies. For a few months, I worked in a chemical company as quality control operator. Next, I moved to a pharmaceutical company, where I was hired as regulatory affair operator.
In 2017 I applied for a PhD position at the University of Pavia and I was selected for a position at the PhD course of Biomedical Sciences, Biochemistry track. This opportunity boosted my formation process. During these years, I was stimulated by several questions and situations to obtain best results in my research. I have participated to several research projects focused on different topics, from tumour to Alzheimer’s disease, from cell signalling to cell functional responses. The research experience I went through so far allowed me to collaborate with several researchers and research groups, stimulating my curiosity, improving my enthusiasm in this work, and enhancing my scientific know-how. Altogether, these experiences strengthen my will to pursue a scientific career.
In spite of the difficulties that may be encountered in scientific research, I have had also many positive and satisfactory experiences, including presenting my work in scientific papers and international congresses, but also getting the PhD title and the general appreciation by colleagues and collaborators.
I think that probably all the different professional experiences are fundamental for your own professional growth. However, I am really enthusiast of the choice I made and for the opportunity I have to work at the University of Pavia. I hope that my research experience can continue here also in the future.
