Kazuya obtained a license of Medical Doctor in the Faculty of Medicine at Nara Medical University in Japan (2011). Subsequently, he was trained for five years as a hematologist at Kurashiki Central Hospital in Japan. In 2016, he started his PhD under the supervision of Prof. Dr. Masanori Matsumoto in Molecular and Regenerative Medicine at Nara Medical University which he successfully defended in 2020. He was also involved in the management of the Japanese registry data for both congenital and immune-mediated thrombotic thrombocytopenic purpura (cTTP and iTTP). In July 2021, he started to work as a Postdoc in the Laboratory for Thrombosis Research. His research interest focuses on studying the immune response in iTTP and developing a novel immune-modulating therapy for iTTP and ultimately for any antibody-mediated autoimmune disorders.
