Alex Brill was born and graduated from Medical School in Russia. After receiving a PhD degree, he did his postdoctoral studies at Weizmann Institute of Science in Rehovot, Israel, and then was Head of a research lab at the Coagulation Unit, Hematology Department at Hadassah Hebrew University Medical School, Jerusalem, Israel. In 2007, Alex moved to Harvard Medical School (Boston MA, USA) and joined the lab of Prof. Denisa Wagner as a postdoctoral fellow. In 2011, he was promoted to Instructor at Harvard Medical School and in 2013, joined the University of Birmingham (UK) as a Birmingham Fellow. Currently, Alex is an Associate Professor (Reader) of Thrombosis and Hemostasis at this University.
