Lucy Norris MSc Mol. Med. PhD ( https://orcid.org/0000-0001-7862-3230) is a Senior Scientist in the Dept of Obstetrics and Gynaecology, Trinity St. James's Cancer Institute, Dublin Ireland. Lucy Norris graduated from Trinity College Dublin with an honours degree in Biochemistry. She was awarded a PhD i from TCD Dept of Obstetrics and Gynaecology based on her work investigating platelet activation in pregnancy, pre-eclampsia and oral contraception. She is the Principal Investigator of Coagulation Research group at the Department of Obstetrics and Gynaecology and has over 25 years' experience in the area of haemostasis and thrombosis research. She is a founder member of INNOVATION- the Irish National Network for Ovarian Cancer Collaboration and a member of All Ireland Cancer Research Institute- a recently established network of clinical and scientific researchers involved in cancer research on the island of Ireland. Her current research program focuses on the prediction of venous thrombosis in gynaecological cancer and the role of coagulation gene expression in the aetiology of ovarian cancer funded by the Health Research Board and the pharmaceutical industry. She has also produced a patients information leaflet "Gynaecological Cancer and the risk of Blood clots" and developed an educational programme to raise awareness among patients and health professionals of the risk of thrombosis associated with gynaecological cancers She has over 100 peer reviewed articles (h-index:22, i10 index 37, Citations 1850). many as senior author on topics including the pathogenesis of thrombosis in hormone users, the role of coagulation and fibrinolysis in pregnancy and pre-eclampsia and more recently on the pathogenesis of venous thrombosis in gynaecological cancers. She is a member of the editorial board for the journal 'Thrombosis Research' and the European Journal of Gynaecolgical Cancer and is co-editor in chief of the journal, Thrombosis Update.
