Laura Somodi is a Ph.D. student in the Division of Clinical Laboratory Science, Department of Laboratory Medicine, at the University of Debrecen, Hungary. Prior to that, she completed her master’s degree in Clinical Laboratory Sciences at the University of Debrecen. She is a member of Vascular Biology, Thrombosis and Hemostasis Research Group and working under the supervision of Professor László Muszbek. Her research has been focused on coagulation factor XIII in platelets, platelet-derived microparticles, and macrophage-derived foam cells. As first author, she has published a paper in the Journal of Thrombosis and Haemostasis (2022;20: 1223-35). Her research activity has been recognized with awards, including Early Career Award at the XXVIII and XXIX Congress of the International Society on Thrombosis and Haemostasis (ISTH) in Philadelphia and London. In addition, she has been involved in teaching Medical Diagnostic Analyst B.Sc. students by holding seminars and practicals.
