Severien Meyers is a PhD student in biomedical sciences at the Center of Molecular and Vascular Biology at KU Leuven, Belgium. My PhD aims to unravel the complex pathophysiology of S. aureus endocarditis. It specifically focusses on the role of neutrophils, neutrophil extracellular traps (NETs) and platelets. We have recently published a review on the complex interplay between S. aureus and NETs.
