Neil Zakai, MD, MSc, is a Professor of Medicine and Professor of Pathology & Laboratory Medicine at the Larner College of Medicine at the University of Vermont, Burlington, Vermont, USA. Dr. Zakai clinically specializes in Classical Hematology and focuses on thrombosis and haemostasis. His research focuses on translational epidemiology; how the interventions and outcomes of medical care can inform future best practices. A current interest has been harnessing the rich resource of electronic health record data to improve healthcare. Dr. Zakai serves as an Associate Editor for Research and Practice of Thrombosis and Haemostasis, and has served as faculty for 6-year for the American Society of Hematology's Clinical Research Training Institute. At the University of Vermont, Dr. Zakai co-leads the Molecular Epidemiology and Study Design Core for the Vermont Center for Cardiovascular and Brain Health.
