Katie Tiemeyer is a research assistant in the lab of Carolyn Bertozzi at the Stanford Chemistry, Engineering, and Medicine for Human Health (ChEM-H) institute, where she studies the glycobiology of human platelets.
Katie graduated from Boston University in 2020 with a degree in biochemistry and molecular biology as well as a degree in vocal performance. She performed her undergraduate thesis work in the lab of Kim McCall, where she studied the glycosylation state of a glial phagocytosis receptor in Drosophila. Her research was supported by a Beckman Scholars Program award in addition to a Barry M. Goldwater scholarship.
