Jignesh Patel is a clinical academic, specialising in anticoagulant drug therapy and is based between the King’s Thrombosis Centre, Department of Haematological Medicine, King’s College Hospital and the Institute of Pharmaceutical Science, King’s College London. Jig is a clinical pharmacist by background and is the research group lead for the Medicines Use group at KCL.
Jig’s research is concerned with the optimal use of anticoagulant therapy in clinical practice and primarily focuses on addressing anticoagulant drug use and dosing issues where uncertainties exist. A particular focus of my research is anticoagulation therapy as it relates to women’s health.
Jig practises as a consultant pharmacist in anticoagulation at King’s College Hospital, and is part of a multidisciplinary team providing a thriving anticoagulation and thrombosis service at both the Denmark Hill and Princess Royal sites. Patients are provided with a highly specialised service, with the team having an international profile in terms of clinical excellence.
