Laure De Waele graduated as Master of Science in Drug Development, Pharmaceutical Sciences at Ghent University (Ghent, Belgium) and started her PhD in Biochemistry in 2018 in the Laboratory for Thrombosis Research at the KU Leuven Campus Kulak Kortrijk, Belgium under the supervision of Prof. Karen Vanhoorelbeke. Her research is focused on investigating the pathophysiology of the rare and life-threatening disorder thrombotic thrombocytopenic purpura and the conformation of the ADAMTS13 enzyme (TTP).
