Jens Witsch is an Assistant Professor of Neurology at the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania. He is a graduate of the vascular neurology fellowship program at New York Presbyterian Hospital/Weill Cornell Medical College. He completed medical school at the University of Heidelberg, Germany, and residencies in neurology at the Charité in Berlin and at Yale. He received research training at the Max-Planck-Institute for Medical Research (doctoral thesis), at the division of Neurocritical Care at Columbia University (research fellowship) and at the Charité University Medicine Berlin (Habilitation). His main research interests are the identification and prevention of secondary injury after hemorrhagic stroke.
