PhD Candidate
Oregon Health & Science University
Tia Kohs graduated from Whitworth University with a B.S. in biology and a B.A. in chemistry. She is pursuing a Ph.D. in biomedical engineering at Oregon Health & Science University. Her research interests include: 1) the interface between blood cells, plasma proteins, and shear stress in the blood microenvironment, and 2) how these interactions impact physiological and pathological processes. She is currently focused on elucidating the role of the TEC family kinases and the contact activation pathway of coagulation in promoting thrombus formation, inflammation, and endothelial cell dysfunction.
