Piet Meijer, PhD, is since 2007 the director of the ECAT Foundation which is based in The Netherlands. Before he had worked for about 25 years for the Dutch Organistaion for Applied Research TNO. Here he was the head of the coagulation laboratory and developed a special interst in quality-related issues and method standardisation.
The ECAT Foundation is a non-profit organisation and one of the largest global external quality assessment providers for specialised laboratory testing in the field of thrombosis and hamostais. Our mission is quality of coagulation testing for the benefit of the patient. Our programme includes more then 65 different paraneters and over 1800 participants worldwide.
