Rezan Abdul-Kadir is a Professor and Consultant Obstetrician and Gynecologist at the Royal Free Hospital, London, UK and University College London, London, UK. She acts as a Specialist Consultant for women with bleeding disorders, and set up the first multidisciplinary clinic to provide comprehensive care for women with bleeding disorders and their families.
Prof. Abdul-Kadir has edited a book entitled Inherited Bleeding Disorders in Women (first edition published in 2009 and second edition in 2019). She has published over 200 peer-reviewed papers and co-authored national and international guidelines in the field of thrombosis and hemostasis in women. She has served as a guest editor and reviewer for several journals including Haemophilia, the Journal of Thrombosis and Haemostasis, Seminars in Thrombosis and Hemostasis, the International Journal of Gynecology and Obstetrics, Obstetrics and Gynecology and the Journal of Obstetrics and Gynaecology.
Prof. Abdul-Kadir is currently co-chair of the Women’s Health Issues in Thrombosis and Hemostasis Scientific and Standardization Committee (SSC) of the International Society on Thrombosis and Haemostasis (ISTH). She is a member of the Women and Girls with Inherited Bleeding Disorders Committee of the World Federation of Hemophilia (WFH) and the Women and Bleeding Disorders Working Group of the European Association for Haemophilia and Allied Disorders (EAHAD). In addition, Prof. Abdul-Kadir is an advisory board member for the UK Haemophilia Society and European Haemophilia Consortium (EHC).
