Professor Ellis is the head of the Hematology Institute and Blood Bank at the Meir Medical Center and is Associate Professor of Hematology at the Tel Aviv University. He is also the Chairman of the Israel Society of Hematology and Transfusion Medicine.
Prof. Ellis’s clinical and research interests are anticoagulant therapy for thrombotic diseases, and treatment of myeloproliferative neoplasms. These are rflected in his over 200 peer reviewed publications.
He has published a number of papers using meta-data which have clearly demonstrated in a “real-world” context the importance of appropriate dosing of the direct oral anticoagulants.
He has also performed a number of national and international studies of JAK inhibitor treatment for myelofibrosis and of the treatment of thrombotic complications of the myeloproliferative neoplasms.
In this state of the art lecture Prof Ellis will integrate scientific and clinical principles central to these two areas of practice and provide an approach to the prevention and treatment of maternal and fetal complications of the MPNs in pregnancy.
