Auckland City Hospital
Dr Claire McLintock ONZM FRACP, FRCPA MBChB (Edin) is an obstetric physician
and haematologist at National Women’s Health, Auckland City Hospital. She has a
special interest in haematological problems in pregnancy, as well as preeclampsia,
maternal morbidity and mortality, obstetric haemorrhage and management of
anticoagulation in pregnant women with mechanical heart valves.
Claire became an Officer of the New Zealand Order of Merit for services to
obstetrics and haematology in 2019.
Claire is on Council of the International Society of Thrombosis and Haemostasis
(ISTH) and is its immediate past-President (2018-2020). She is Past-President of
the Society of Obstetric Medicine of Australasia and New Zealand (2008-2010)
and the Australasian Society of Thrombosis and Haemostasis (2009-2011).
She is one of the authors for the American Society of Hematology’s (ASH)
guidelines on management of VTE in pregnancy and the guidelines on diagnosis
of von Willebrands’s Disease a collaboration between ISTH, ASH, National
Hemophilia Foundation and World Federation of Haemophila
