Bianca Rocca, MD, PhD is Professor of Pharmacology at the Catholic University School of Medicine in Rome (Italy) and achieved the National Scientific Qualification for Full Professor of Pharmacology.
She trained as Postdoctoral Fellow at the Center for Experimental Therapeutics, University Pennsylvania of Philadelphia (USA).
She is Fellow of the European Society of Cardiology (FESC), has served as Chairperson of the European Society of Cardiology (ESC) Working Group on Thrombosis (2018-2020) and is currently ex officio Member of the board in the same ESC Working Group. She is Vice-Chair of the course on 'Certificate of Advanced Studies on Antithrombotic Management' from the University of Maastricht.
She has been member of the Task Force of the 2018 ESC Guidelines on cardiovascular disease in pregnancy and of the Task Force of the 2019 ESC Guidelines on diabetes and participated to several scientific and position documents on behalf of the ESC Working Group on Thrombosis. She has been ex-officio member of the nucleus of the ESC-WG on Aorta and Periphral Arterial Diseases and is currently member of the ESC Congress Programme Committee for the section on Cardiovascular Pharmacology.
She is member of the Editorial Board of Diabetes and Vascular Disease Research, EHJ-Cardiovascular Pharmacology, Cardiovascular Drugs and Therapy, Frontiers in Drug Safety.
She has co-authored over 160 articles in peer-reviewed journals including Annals of Internal Medicine, Blood, Circulation, EHJ, Diabetes, JACC, Journal of Clinical Investigation, Nature Medicine, Science, PNAS (USA), with over 15,000 citations; H-index 48 (Google Scholar).
Main scientific interests are: antithrombotic drugs, eicosanoids, haemostasis, platelets, non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs, cardiovascular diseases.
