Professional Registered Nurse: Haemophilia Coordinator

I am Miss Alfreda Queensy, Registered Professional Nurse, working at Groote Schuur Hospital in Cape Town, the Western Cape in South Africa.
I started my nursing career in the year 1994 as a student nurse and completed my 4 year diploma; Diploma in Nursing (General, Psychiatry, Community) and Midwifery, in 1998. After completion of my diploma I worked in the Oncology wards, only the solid tumors, for the next 5years.
Thereafter, I worked for one-year in the Paediatric Bone-marrow Unit in Saudi Arabia, where I gained a tremendous amount of knowledge in Haematology. I started working in The Haematology Department, out-patient's Department, at Groote Schuur again in 2017. I started dealing mainly with haemophilia patients in 2020 and is currently in the post as Haemophilia Coordinator for the adult patients in Groote Schuur and the paediatric patients in Red Cross. Hospital.
I also obtained my Postgraduate Diploma in Nursing Management and Nursing Education in 2014 and 2015.
