Henry Schmidt, MD is a 2nd-year Pulmonary Fellow at Ann & Robert H. Lurie Children's Hospital of Chicago within the Division of Pulmonary and Sleep Medicine. His research interests include the validation and implementation of remote ausculatory telemonitoring of pediatric patients with a variety of pathologies and clinical settings. Within cystic fibrosis, he is interested in how remote telemonitoring may help identify pulmonary pathology earlier and improve outcomes. He holds a doctorate of medicine (M.D.) from Florida Atlantic University Charles E. Schmidt College of Medicine and a bachelor of science (B.S) from the University of Illinois at Urbana - Champaign with a major in molecular and cellular biology and a minor concentration in chemistry. As apediatric resident at Rush University in Chicago, he won medical student teaching recognition awards in 2019 and 2021, as well as Senior Resident of the Year award in 2021. A lifelong Chicagoan, he is a hopeless Chicago sports fan and a staunch critic of the best burgers in the Chicagoland area.
