Melanie (Kaplanek) Anderson, MD is a second year pediatric pulmonary fellow, training at Cincinnati Children's Hospital Medical Center. She completed her undergraduate degree in Health Promotion and Disease Prevention Studies at the University of Southern California and attended medical school at the University of South Florida Morsani College of Medicine as a part of the SELECT MD program (Scholarly Excellence. Leadership Experiences. Collaborative Training). This additional training program has embedded in her a passion for leadership, quality improvement, and a focus on healthcare systems in medicine. She completed her pediatric residency at the University of Arizona and is board certified in General Pediatrics by the American Board of Pediatrics. She is currently pursuing a master's degree in medical education through the University of Cincinnati and hopes to be involved in program leadership in the future. While her clinical pulmonary interests are broad, she is particularly drawn to the multidisciplinary care of patients with cystic fibrosis.
