Laura Batke, RN, CCRP is a Clinical Research Nurse Specialist III with the Pediatric Pulmonary Division at Rainbow Babies and Children’s Hospital, Cleveland, Ohio. She has enjoyed a 35 year long career as a research nurse, beginning at the Dahms Clinical Research Unit, a NIH-funded research unit at University Hospitals of Cleveland. There she focused on a broad range of clinical trials including both adult and pediatric populations with an emphasis on adult Oncology. In 2019 she joined the CF team at Rainbow Babies and Children’s Hospital as a research nurse coordinator. In 2010, she commissioned in the United States Air Force Reserves as an Aeromedical Evacuation Flight Nurse and served for 12 years achieving the rank of Lt Colonel. She has had multiple deployments which included missions to Afghanistan, Qatar, Kuwait and Germany. In her spare time, Laura is a volunteer with Cleveland City Dogs, an organization dedicated to changing the image of pit bulls and increasing adoptions from the city kennel. Laura welcomed the birth of her first grandchild this summer, Henry Alan.
