Dr. Estelle Cormet-Boyaka received her Ph.D. in Pharmacology in 1997 from the University of Paris, France. She then went to the University of Alabama at Birmingham for a post-doctoral fellowship in the Department of Physiology and was a member of the Cystic Fibrosis Center. She joined the Division of Pulmonary, Allergy, Critical Care and Sleep Medicine Ohio State University (OSU) as an Assistant Professor in 2006 and was recently recruited to the Department of Veterinary Biosciences at OSU. Her research interest focuses on cell homeostasis, in particular epithelial cells, including protein trafficking, protein-protein interaction, and signaling pathways; as well as the effect of pollutants on cell homeostasis and CFTR. Dr. Cormet-Boyaka is also an active member of the Translational Therapeutic Development Center for Cystic Fibrosis at Nationwide Childrens Hospital in Columbus. Her findings have been published in PNAS, Science, Journal of Biological Chemistry, FASEB Journal, and Toxicological Sciences among others. Her research is funded by the NIH and the American Lung Association.
