Freda Liu, PhD, is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Psychiatry and Behavioral Sciences at the University of Washington School of Medicine, an Attending Psychologist at Seattle Children’s Hospital (SCH), and the Director of Measurement-Based Patient Care for Outpatient Psychiatry and Behavioral Medicine at SCH. Dr. Liu’s teaching interests include integrating pediatric psychology into multidisciplinary care and the provision of evidence-based mental health service to diverse youth and families with special healthcare needs. Clinically, Dr. Liu works with youths (from toddler to young adulthood) and families affected by Cystic Fibrosis. Her program of research aims to develop scalable mental health services to improve access and quality of mental healthcare for diverse youth and families. Specifically, her work has focused on the implementation of Measurement-Based Care in diverse mental healthcare settings that serves youth, the development of implicit bias interventions for youth mental healthcare providers, and the adaptation of Acceptance Commitment Therapy in telehealth groups for teens with Cystic Fibrosis.
