Specifically, he investigated the role of CFTR protein on limb muscle structure and contractile function in the adult CF population. For the studies, he used ultrasound to examine lower limb muscle size and muscle composition; various dynamometers to measure muscle strength; and the stair climb power test for the lower limb muscle power. Kenneth is currently a post-doctoral fellow at the University of Toronto, focusing on testing an innovative device to stimulate muscle contraction for patients in the ICU to prevent the development of ICU acquired weakness.
