Dr. Bradley E. McCrory is a Clinical Pharmacy Specialist in Pulmonary Medicine at Cincinnati Children’s Hospital Medical Center, in Cincinnati, Ohio. Dr. McCrory obtained his Doctor of Pharmacy degree from Purdue University in 2002, and was also awarded the Patient Care Award for Purdue University in 2002. After graduation, Dr. McCrory went on to complete one year residencies in: Pharmacy Practice at Wishard Health Services (now Ezkenazi Health) in Indianapolis, Indiana, and a Pediatric Pharmacy Practice Residency at Columbus Children’s Hospital (now Nationwide Children's Hospital) in Columbus, Ohio. After completing his residency training, Dr. McCrory accepted the position of Clinical Pharmacy Specialist in Pediatrics at Maine Medical Center/Barbara Bush Children’s Hospital in Portland, Maine. During his 2 years in Maine, Dr. McCrory rounded and interacted with numerous pediatricians and subspecialists, including pulmonary medicine. Dr. McCrory also precepted 4th year pharmacy students from various colleges of pharmacy in the New England Region. Now that Dr. McCrory is at Cincinnati Children’s Hospital Medical Center, his primary focus has been working with the pulmonologists to provide safe and effective treatment regimens for patients with cystic fibrosis, as well as other pulmonary diseases, in both the inpatient and outpatient settings. Dr. McCrory provides inpatient pharmacy services to the Complex Pulmonary/Cystic Fibrosis patient unit, as well as pharmacy services to cystic fibrosis patients, during clinic visits. Dr. McCrory provides training and supervision to 4th year pharmacy students from the University of Cincinnati College of Pharmacy, as well as PGY-1 and PGY-2 pharmacy residents at Cincinnati Children’s Hospital Medical Center. Dr. McCrory has given lectures to pharmacy students on the topics of cystic fibrosis and pediatric asthma. Dr. McCrory serves on several departmental (Pharmacy and Pulmonary) and hospital-wide committees involving medication use. At the national level, Dr. McCrory has given presentations on various topics related to care of cystic fibrosis patients, as well as several poster presentations. Dr. McCrory serves on the Pediatric Pharmacy Associates (PPA) Advocacy Committee, as well as the Position Statements and Kids Meds Subcommittees. Dr. McCrory has served as a peer reviewer for the Journal of Pediatric Pharmacy and Therapeutics (JPPT), a publication of PPA, and the Journal of Pharmacy and Pharmacology. Some of Dr. McCrory's research interests include appropriate dosing of vancomycin and tobramycin in young patients with cystic fibrosis, as well as prevention of acute kidney injury (AKI) and other medication safety issues in patients with cystic fibrosis.
