Texas Children's Hospital/Baylor CF Care Center
Pam Tuley, MSHA, RN, CPN is the Program Coordinator for the Baylor Pediatric CF Center at Texas Children's Hospital in Houston. Pam earned a BS in Health Education from Texas A&M University in 1989 and then her BSN from Texas Women's University in May 1992. TCH has been her home for almost all of her nursing career, with a total of 18 years off and on in Pulmonary Medicine. The first two trips through Pulmonary were as a staff nurse--caring for CF, asthma, BPD, apnea, ILD--but the third time was the charm when the Section Chief asked her to come and replace the retiring current coordinator. That was in 2014, and the rest is history. Things have changed a lot over the past 20 years and it has been a tremendous pleasure watching patients grow older and have more hope for greater life expectancy. Pam loves working with newly-diagnosed families, helping guide them through the diagnosis and supporting them as they come to terms with their child's diagnosis. Newborn screening, educating families and co-workers, and CRMS are also close to her heart. She leads several departmental QI committees (CF Education, Infection Control, Transition) and serves on several more (CFRD, Nutrition, Pharmacotherapy), as well as a system-wide committee with the Epic Population Health Workgroup. Her team also participates with the CFTN as mentors to two CF Centers in Mexico.
