Dr. Ashare received her MD from Vanderbilt University School of Medicine and her PhD in Translational Biomedicine from the University of Iowa. She completed her Internal Medicine Residency and Pulmonary and Critical Care Fellowship at the University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics. She is currently an Associate Professor of Medicine and Microbiology & Immunology at the Geisel School of Medicine at Dartmouth. In addition to her clinical and administrative roles, Dr. Ashare is actively involved in CF-related research. A major focus of her laboratory involves the investigation of how metabolic differences in innate immune cells impact the inflammatory response in the CF lung. In addition, she serves as the co-director of the Translational Research Core (TRC) within the Dartmouth CF Research Center. In this role, she coordinates studies to obtain clinic samples for investigator initiated research projects.
