Emily DeBoer, MD MS is an Associate Professor in the Section of Pulmonary and Sleep Medicine in the Department of Pediatrics at the University of Colorado and Children’s Hospital Colorado. Dr. DeBoer’s career is focused on improving the lives of children with pulmonary disease through better diagnostics, imaging technology, and multidisciplinary care. Her research is focused on understanding the structure/function relationship of the lung and airway in children with complex anatomy including aerodigestive disorders, cystic fibrosis, and Down syndrome.
Dr. DeBoer completed her medical degree and pediatric residency at Emory University School of Medicine. She completed a fellowship in Pediatric Pulmonary Medicine at University of Colorado Anschutz Medical Campus. She is the medical director of the Multidisciplinary Aerodigestive program at Children’s Hospital Colorado and provides pulmonary care in the Sie Center for Down syndrome. Dr. DeBoer leads efforts to improve pediatric bronchoscopy quality and safety at Children’s Hospital Colorado. Additionally, Dr. DeBoer received the ATS Award for Innovation in Fellowship Education in 2016 for her innovative approaches to teaching flexible bronchoscopy to pediatric trainees.
