William R. Hunt received his MD from the Medical University of South Carolina in 2006. He subsequently trained in combined internal medicine and pediatrics at Indiana University and Riley Hospital for Children in Indianapolis, Indiana from 2006 to 2010. While in residency, his research focused on CFTR dysfunction on pulmonary endothelial cell barrier integrity. In 2010, Dr. Hunt joined Emory University as a clinical fellow in the Division of Pulmonary, Allergy, and Critical Care Medicine later joining the faculty in 2013. His pulmonary clinical training interest has focused on transition care for adolescent/young adult CF patients, while his current research interest include understanding the mechanisms underlying pulmonary decline in the setting of cystic fibrosis related diabetes.
