Jennifer Hamilton received her Bachelor of Science with an emphasis in Nursing from Brigham Young University in 2007. In 2011 she graduated from the University of Utah with a Doctorate in Nursing Practice and joined the Pediatric Pulmonary and Sleep Medicine Division at the University of Utah as a Nurse Practitioner. Practicing at the Intermountain Cystic Fibrosis Center a Primary Children’s Medical Center, her main area of clinical interest is caring for children with cystic fibrosis and their families. She is also actively involved in Nurse Practitioner education and Quality Improvement. In 2014 she began as adjunct instructor with the University of Utah College Of Nursing, teaching in the Doctorate of Nursing Program Primary Care Specialty Track. In 2015 she joined the faculty of College of Nursing as an Assistant Professor (Clinical). She was the lead for the pediatric primary care specialty track 2015 to 2017. She has presented at local and national conferences on topics related to management of patients with CF, PCNP education, NP roles, and quality improvement. She has published abstracts, letters to the editor, and articles in peer reviewed journals on similar topics.
Jennifer has served as the Utah Chapter NAPNAP communications chair and secretary. Currently, she is present-elect. She also services as a recognized professional CF mentor for APP CF fellows. She is a part of her clinic’s multidisciplinary quality improvement team, leads the sexual and reproduce health sub-committee, and serves on the national Cystic Fibrosis Learning Network Publication Committee.
