Julie Matel has been a Clinical Dietitian at the Stanford Children's CF center for 22 years. She received her Bachelor’s Degree in Biology from the University of California at San Diego, a Master’s Degree in Nutritional Sciences from the University of California at Berkeley, and completed her Dietetic Internship from the University of California in San Francisco. Her primary interest has been to help manage cystic fibrosis related diabetes for which she served as the research coordinator for a multi-site NIH funded research study entitled, “Diabetes Therapy to Improve BMI and Pulmonary Function in CF Subjects with Abnormal Glucose Tolerance. Julie also enjoys mentoring students and new Dietitians and is involved in coordinating the nutrition rotation for dietetic interns at Stanford Children’s Health. In her spare time, Julie loves to run, hike and read, and enjoys spending time with her husband and three children in Redwood City, CA.
