Diane Lindsay-Adler, MS, RDN, CDN, is a Registered Dietitian Nutritionist (RDN) at Boston Children’s Health Physicians and the New York Medical College Cystic Fibrosis Center in Vallhala, NY. Diane earned her Master of Science degree from Teachers College of Columbia University, New York, NY, where her capstone project focused on nutrition education for college students. She completed her dietetic internship at Westchester Medical Center and Maria Fareri Children's Hospital in Vallhala, NY. For the last 7 years Diane has been part of the New York Medical College CF center where she works with the interdisciplinary team to manage the nutritional needs of 160 adult and pediatric CF patients in an outpatient setting. Diane is part of the CF center QI committee and has contributed to multiple research studies at the center. She has a special interest in the growing use of body composition measurements in CF and now conducts measurements at her center using a bioelectrical impedance analysis machine. Diane is a national CF dietitian mentor and has led a round table discussion on probiotics for CF at the National CF RD and Social Work Consortium. She served as a reviewer for of the obesity and probiotic sections of the CF dietitian document “Nutrition 101”. Diane also works with pediatric patients from the Boston Children’s Health Physicians division of pediatric pulmonology, allergy, immunology and sleep medicine. Her work involves providing one-on-one nutrition counseling to patients with a wide variety of diagnoses and from many different backgrounds, often using motivational interviewing techniques to help patients overcome barriers and set goals, which has resulted in positive outcomes. She has been part of a 2 year telehealth intervention addressing pediatric patients with both asthma and obesity. Diane is a staff member of the Children’s Environmental Health Center of the Hudson valley where she works with a team of environmental experts addressing food insecurity and providing current information to the community on food safety and various environmental issues. She has run a Zoom nutrition workshop for parents: “Mission Nutrition: A Course for Parents But All About Kids!” Diane has also made multiple presentations about nutrition for parents, meal planning and food insecurity to Headstart, Girl Scouts of America and New York Medical College.
