UCL Great Ormond Street Institute of Child Health
Dr Gwyneth Davies is a UK Research and Innovation Future Leaders Fellow/Clinical Associate Professor at the UCL Great Ormond Street Institute of Child Health, and Honorary Consultant in paediatric respiratory medicine at Great Ormond Street Hospital for Children, London. She is co-Chief Investigator for the CF STORM randomised registry clinical trial, which is being undertaken across multiple cystic fibrosis (CF) centres across the UK. Dr Davies is actively involved in a wide range of UK CF Registry-based research projects including those with trial-based and observational methodologies. She is a member of the UK CF Registry Steering Committee.
Her PhD was awarded by Imperial College London in 2013. Dr Davies then completed clinical training in paediatric respiratory medicine at the Royal Brompton and Great Ormond Street Hospitals, combining this with research as a National Institute for Health Research (NIHR) Academic Clinical Lecturer at UCL. In 2019 she was awarded an NIHR Clinical Trials Fellowship with the Pragmatic Clinical Trials Unit, Queen Mary University of London. Her research interests include addressing questions relating to simplifying treatment burden in CF, use of routine data in clinical trials, clinical informatics, clinical trial design and monitoring lung disease in childhood and adolescence.
