Dr. Patrick Flume joined the faculty of the Pulmonary and Critical Care Division at the Medical University of South Carolina in 1993. He is a Professor of Medicine and Pediatrics, overseeing a rapidly growing Cystic Fibrosis Center, and the major adult CF program in South Carolina. His primary interests are in CF and bronchiectasis and chronic airways infection. The MUSC CF Center is the principal CF program in South Carolina. They provide state-of-the-art care to patients and families with CF; provide primary educator of clinicians and basic scientists in the field of CF; and perform basic and clinical research in the field of CF. Dr. Flume is the MUSC CF Center Director and has recognition by the national and international CF community having served on the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation Center Committee, the Adult Care Consensus Committee, the Advisory Task Force on Adult Issues, the Professional Education Committee, and as co-chair for the Pulmonary Practice Guidelines Committee. Dr. Flume leads an active clinical research program and is Co-PI for the MUSC Clinical and Translational Research Center and serves as Associate Vice President for Clinical Research for the insitution..
