Dr. Dhiren Patel MBBS, MD, is an Associate Professor of Pediatrics and the medical director of Gastrointesinal motility program , in the Division of Pediatric Gastroenterology at Cardinal Glennon Children’s Hospital, Saint Louis University School of Medicine. He has expertise in taking care of patients with dysmotility of GI tract from various reasons. Dr Patel has started gastrointestinal motility program at SLU from inception and now serving pediatric and adolescents patients with the need for GI motility interventions. He joined SLU faculty in 2016 where he took charge of few CF related nutritional studies as principal investigator for site and represented SLU CF center. Dr Patel is also a member of American Neurogastroenterology and Motility Society.. Dr Patel incorporates many latest technologies in his practice that includes wireless motility capsule, pH- impedance techniques, high resolution manometry and scintigraphy tests. He is also a certified physican with expertise in neurostimulation procedure such as IB stim. He plans to continue his research exploring dysmotility of gastrointestinal tract in patients with cystic fibrosis.
