Jacob Blackwelder is a 3rd year medical student at the University of Cincinnati College of Medicine. He graduated with a B.S. in Environmental Science at Brigham Young University in Provo, Utah, where he also actively pursued a pre-medical education. During his undergraduate career he spent two years in Malaysia and Singapore on a Christian service mission. He became fluent in Malay during his service mission. He also worked as a BYU anatomy teaching assistant, Aquaponics research assistant, and care specialist at an emergency behavioral hospital. He has been involved with Cystic Fibrosis research at UCCOM for three years, specifically working with patients 18 years and older. Jacob is husband and father to three young children. He is a passionate research assistant who has specific interest in Trikafta and its total effect on the body.
