Margret Powell graduated from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill in 2016 with a BS in Psychology, BA in Political Science, and a minor in neuroscience. She then attended North Carolina State University for a year of post-baccalaureate research coursework and started with the UNC CF Center in fall 2017. She has filled multiple roles at UNC, including Data Coordinator, managing the PortCF Registry and specimen biorepository; Research Coordinator, coordinating primarily PI-initiated NIH funded, FDA sponsored studies; and now fills the role of Primary Coordinator/Clinical Research Lead - Advanced, for the Adult CF Research Group, performing both the role of leading clinical trials (TDN, Industry, and PI-Initiated trials) and additional managerial, administrative, and regulatory duties. Margret’s professional goals are to earn her PhD in Clinical Psychology, after which she would love to return to CF mental health research and care in a different capacity. In her free time, she likes to cross-stitch and volunteer with a local animal rescue as a foster team lead and medical board member.
