Assistant Research Professor
Johns Hopkins University
Dr. Stephany Tzeng is an Assistant Research Professor of Biomedical Engineering at Johns Hopkins University (JHU). She earned her Ph.D. in biomedical engineering at JHU School of Medicine, working as an NSF graduate research fellow in the laboratory of Dr. Jordan Green on non-viral nanoparticles for gene delivery, with applications in cancer therapy and regenerative medicine. She subsequently worked as a postdoctoral associate at Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) in the Langer lab, developing controlled release microparticle formulations for proteins and nucleic acids. As a member of the research faculty at Johns Hopkins, she studies synthetic micro- and nanoparticle systems for drug delivery and immune engineering. Her current research focuses on nucleic acid delivery for immunotherapy; nucleic acid delivery for gene editing; degradable microparticles for sustained release of therapeutics; and degradable micro- and nanoparticles as cell mimics for immune modulation.
