Anna Cereseto is Full Professor of Molecular Biology at the University of Trento and group leader of the laboratory of Molecular Virology at the CIBIO Department. She started her scientific career as post-doc at the National Cancer Institute, NIH in Bethesda, she then moved to Cornell University (NY) and Mount Sinai School of Medicine (NY) as Instructor. She moved back to Italy as Associate Professor of Molecular Biology at Scuola Normale Superiore in Pisa. Her interests focus on genome editing technologies through the development of CRISPR-Cas tools and delivery systems for their application to reverse genetic defects causing human diseases, with a particular interest for cystic fibrosis. She published more than 50 articles on molecular retrovirology and genome editing. Her research is supported by the European community (UPGRADE-Horizon 2020), the American and Italian Cystic Fibrosis Foundations (FFC and CFF).
