Kimberly Foil, MS, CGC is a Certified Genetic Counselor and Assistant Professor at the Medical University of South Carolina (MUSC). Kimberly earned her master’s degree in Medical Genetics the University of Cincinnati in 2008. Following early career experience in prenatal genetics, she joined the MUSC Pulmonary Division in 2014 and has been embedded in the CF Center since. She provides genetic counseling for pediatric and adult patients and families affected by CF and is engaged in newborn screening quality improvement and follow-up. Her CF research interests include fertility and family planning, modulator use in gestation and lactation, mental health and wellness, and genetic counseling for families of infants with positive newborn screens. Kimberly is past co-chair and current member of the National Society of Genetic Counselors Cystic Fibrosis Special Interest Group and provides CF genetics education to genetic counseling and medical students in South Carolina.
