Dr. Poore is a pediatric pulmonologist at the University of Alabama Birmingham. He completed his undergrad training at the University of Georgia and medical school at the Medical College of Georgia. He then completed his pediatrics residency at the University of Alabama at Birmingham as well as a chief resident year. He then completed a pediatric pulmonology fellowship and Masters of Science in Clinical Science at the University of Colorado.
Dr. Poore specializes in Cystic Fibrosis, rare lung diseases, and Allergic Bronchopulmonary Aspergillosis. His research is focused on fungal infections in CF, co-infection models in CF, pulmonary immunology, and CT imagery. Dr. Poore has been fortunate enough to receive research support from the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation, the Kaul Pediatric Research Institute, and the NIH Loan Repayment Program and has been mentored by leaders in the CF clinical and research community.
In his spare time, Dr. Poore is sometimes riding his bike, maybe playing his guitar, or most likely wrangling his three children and their new puppy named Butter.
