Bio: Pediatric Pulmonologist (1991), former bench researcher from 1991-2012, Division Head 2009 (OHSU), CF Center & Pediatric Program Director (2013, OHSU), CF TDC Director (2014, OHSU), CF Learning Network Co-Chair (2019).
Clinical and Research Expertise: Pediatric Pulmonologist, providing pulmonology care to infant, children, and teens. Provided clinical CF care to Pediatric and Adult Patients 1991-2001, Pediatric focus 2001-present. Former NIH funded researcher with focus on growth factors, angiogenesis growth factors, and apoptosis in models of retinopathy of prematurity, bronchopulmonary dysplasia, and acute lung injury. Local PI on TDN supported and industry supported clinical trials. Local and national physician leader in Quality Improvement, Physician Co-Chair for the CF Learning Network. Expertise in Learning Health Networks, Joy in Work, and Co-production with patient and family partners.
Fun facts: Lead Singer is physician-based rock band (classmates from medical school). Amateur Stargazer with 18 inch reflector telescope used for visual astronomy in central Oregon.
