Ryan Harris, PhD, CEP, is a Professor of Medicine and Director of the Laboratory of Integrative Vascular and Exercise Physiology (www.LIVEP.net) at Augusta University. Following the completion of his PhD from Indiana University, Dr. Harris engaged in a two year interventional physiology post-doctoral fellowship at University of California, San Diego in the Department of Physiology. Dr. Harris is a vascular biologist and clinical exercise physiologist who’s research utilizes exercise and/or physical activity as a tool in the treatment and prevention of cardiovascular disease and the associated co-morbidities. In general, using acute physiological stress perturbations (i.e. diet and exercise) in human clinical populations, his research aims to understand the interaction among inflammation, oxidative stress, and vascular endothelial function. Dr. Harris is recognized both nationally and internationally as a leader in the field of vascular endothelial function and exercise physiology and has published his works in some of the top rated clinical and physiological journals. Dr. Harris is currently funded as PI/MPI by the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation (Clinical Research Award), American Heart Association (SFRN), and NIH (P30 and 2 R01s)
