Barb J. Bice holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Dietetics and Nutrition from Harding University in Searcy, AR, as well as a Master of Science degree in Clinical Nutrition from The University of Kansas Medical Center in Kansas City, KS. She joined the University of Nebraska Medical Center, Pediatric Cystic Fibrosis Program in 2007, after spending the first 10 years of her dietetics career in outpatient nutrition clinics at Children's Mercy Hospital, in Kansas City, Missouri. The Nebraska Regional Pediatric CF Center has transitioned to seeing all 180-200 patients at Children's Hospital and Medical Center from birth up to age 21 years when they transition to the Adult CF Center.
Professional interests include the care of the cystic fibrosis newborn, nutrition concerns in the age of highly effective modulator therapy, and nutrition related quality improvement and research projects in cystic fibrosis. Another professional interest is mentoring new dietitians to Cystic Fibrosis and teaching undergraduate and graduate nutrition students about Cystic Fibrosis nutrition.
Barb lives in Bennington, NE which is a suburb of Omaha with her husband. They have 3 children, 25, 19, & 18. Two of their children are in college and the oldest son is getting married right before the CF conference. They also have 2 grandchildren, ages 5 and 7 months. Barb enjoys spending time with her family and friends, traveling, and making digital photo albums.
