Madeline graduated from Heidelberg University in 2019 with a Bachelor of Science. Upon completing her bachelors degree, Madeline pursed a higher education degree from University of Toledo. In May 2022, Madeline graduated with an entry level Occupational Therapy Doctorate degree as well as a graduate certificate focused on interprofessional teaming in early childhood. During her graduate degree, Madeline completed clinical experiences with the adult and pediatric populations in various therapeutic settings including acute care and outpatient rehabilitation. Culminating the doctoral level degree was the capstone project focused on advocacy that Madeline completed. During the project, Madeline explored the relevant literature, interviewed pertinent stakeholders, and contributed to the conversation regarding occupational therapy's role on the interdisciplinary care team surrounding children with cystic fibrosis. It was through the advoacy based project, that Madeline gained a thorough understanding and appreciation for the role of advocacy in the profession of occupational therapy.
