Professor of Child Health
University of Nottingham, United Kingdom
I am Professor of Child Health at the University of Nottingham and Honorary Consultant in Paediatric Respiratory Medicine at Nottingham Children’s Hospital. My clinical focus is cystic fibrosis (CF). My research interests include effective ways to treat infection in CF and minimising the adverse effects of treatment. I lead a patient engagement exercise (@questionCF) which has defined and is now updating research priorities in CF. These priorities include research into the causes of gastrointestinal symptoms in CF. I am now engaged in discovery science, using MRI imaging and microbiome studies to define the mechanisms of gut symptoms and find effective treatments. I am Co-ordinating Editor of the Cochrane Cystic Fibrosis & Genetic Disorders Group. When not working, I am a keen cyclist and pilot.
