Shuyu Hao, PhD, Postdoctoral Researcher, Case Western Reserve University, Cleveland, OH 44106
Shuyu Hao received her Ph.D. from Case Western Reserve University in Genetics and Genome Sciences in 2019 in the lab of Mitchell Drumm, where she continues her post-doctoral training. Her research focuses on mechanisms underlying altered transcriptional regulation in CF cells. She is also interested in gene editing technologies to correct CFTR mutations. During her graduate studies, she was interested in understanding if/how CFTR’s absence influences transcriptional regulation in CF intestinal epithelial cells and tissues. She was also studying how the CF intestinal environment contributes to the transcriptome of intestinal epithelial cells. Currently, she is trying to use CRISPR/Cas9 system to restore segmental duplications in CFTR.
